Welcome to AWANA!  We are looking forward to a great year of learning about Jesus.  This letter is to help you to understand what is required of you to help your child succeed at AWANA.  Below are some key things that you need to know about AWANA.

All clubbers need to be here at 5:24 sharp. Clubbers need to be dropped off in the gym of the youth building. When clubbers arrive, they will go to the registration table and check in. Clubbers will need to turn in their dues and will receive points for bringing their, Bibles, books, and wearing their buttoned uniforms.  After checking in clubbers will stand on their color lines for opening ceremonies.

Dismissal time will be at 7:10. If you have a clubber that should not be picked up by someone else please let his or her leader know. Clubbers are expected to remain in the gym with adult supervision until they leave.

All parents are welcome to join us for the closing ceremonies from 7:00-7:10.  You are also welcome to stay for adult Bible study, prayer meetings, or help in AWANA. Clubbers (except 3 & 4 y/o) will be given their awards during the closing ceremony at 7:00 and all are welcome to watch.

Game Time is always fun for the kids but it can also cause injuries. Because of the size of the game floor, we request that clubbers not wear shorts or skirts, unless religious beliefs require them to do so. Clubbers need to wear tied gym shoes.  Clubbers who do not wear gym shoes will not be allowed to participate in games.  They may not take off their shoes to play for other safety reasons.

Clubbers need to bring 50¢ each week for dues.  Dues help cover the cost of AWANA store items and special club nights.  If you prefer, dues for the entire club year can be paid at the beginning of the year.  Whole year dues are $15.00 per clubber.

AWANA has one handbook for each grade level.  Clubbers should try to finish one handbook each year.  To do this, clubbers, except 3 and 4 y/o, need to pass at least 2 sections each night.  For 3rd – 6th graders, they need to complete one discovery or challenge each month. AWANA has special awards for clubbers who complete their books, including camp for 5th and 6th graders.

If you have any questions about AWANA, please call me at 937-783-2291, or speak with your clubber’s leader.  We will do all we can to make your child’s club year successful.

Sincerely,

Your AWANA Commander,

James Quigley
